Why B₄C ? Abrasives, Nozzles, Nuclear Applications, Good thermal-neutron capture, Thermal-neutron absorber, Ballistic Armour, Refractory. Low thermal conductivity susceptible to thermal shock failure, Outstanding hardness, Semiconductor, Wear applications (Load compressing or sliding)
